Thanks AG1 for the sponsorship. Welcome back to the latest issue of FckThat. We're here to give you the tools, stories, and reminders you need to handle the anxiety that life throws your way. It’s not about getting rid of anxiety, we are learning how to live with it and even thrive alongside it. Let's dive in.

THE STRUGGLE

Do you hate your fcking job? You want to tell them hoes to find somebody else to do it, or tell them to do it they self or Fck You, pay me? You want to quit that weak shit, but you need the money and you ain’t got shit else lined up? Well this one is for you, so keep reading.

Today, we’re jumping into a hot topic: Quiet Quitting. What is it really? Why are more people leaning into this approach at work? And the shit you want to know, which is how to quit your job and get paid to do it. Let’s break down the connection between workplace anxiety and the connection to quiet quitting, and offer some genuinely useful tips in case you’re thinking about making this move yourself. Let’s jump in.

TIP OF THE WEEK

Affirmation Of The Week: “Abundance” Say this to yourself, look in the mirror and say “I’m open to receiving all the income and opportunities the universe has to offer. I deserve financial success, and I trust that good things are coming to me, I am a money magnet.”

Make it part of your morning routine let it be a gentle nudge to start seeing the abundance around you, and to believe in your own worth. The more you honestly believe you’re worthy of of success, the more space you make for new possibilities and prosperity to find you. You have to put it out into the universe.

QUIET QUITTING

What is quiet quitting? Quiet quitting isn’t about actually quitting your job physically at all, you don’t put in your 2 weeks or no shit like that. Quiet quitting is when you do just enough to meet the expectations of your job, but you stop going the extra mile at work. It’s not actually quitting your job, it’s about drawing boundaries and deciding not to take on tasks or responsibilities that aren’t in your job description.

Stop going above and beyond for these fools. It’s a way of protecting your time and energy without straight stepping off or walking away completely. Your coworkers prolly started their quiet quitting process already and you hella fcking late to the party. Your supervisor prolly quite quit already and displays this behavior right now. Think about it.

When someone asks you to do their job, they already quiet quit . However, you still need to perform at work though, don’t let them figure it out by a decline in your work performance. Only you can fck this up so be smart.

WHY IT HAPPENS

Why do people quite quit? Well, let’s see. People usually quiet quit when they feel unappreciated, stretched out too thin, or just plain disconnected from their jobs especially when all their hard work goes unseen and unrewarded, it comes from being sick of the bullshit. When there aren’t real chances to grow, managers don’t give a fck or listen, or you feel like just another cog in the machine, it’s easy to lose motivation. This is the cause for quiet quitting.

BE YOUR OWN BOSS

For a lot of people, that’s where the appeal of entrepreneurship kicks in and turns up. The idea of calling your own shots, setting your own hours, and finally working on something you are truly passionate about is a breath of fresh air. It’s not just escaping the daily grind and damn sure not for somebody else, it’s about searching for real fulfillment, and actually having a say in your own success. And you need your 9-5 to fund your business. Work for yourself as hard as you work for your job, and you are guaranteed to be successful. You know what’s best for you, go for it, you got this.

THE CONNECTION

Do we need a reason for anxiety? But if we did, work would be a good one. Quiet quitting can help reduce work related anxiety by setting boundaries and preventing burnout. Hey Buzz Lightyear, you have to stop going to infinity and beyond and shit, for a job that doesn’t give a fck about you, and they don’t value your extra effort, you regain control over your time and energy.

You have to shift your energy to better usage. This shift reduces the pressure to constantly perform at a level that leaves you feeling overwhelmed when it seems your coworkers are not held to the same standards or in fact, not working or doing their job at all.

By focusing on the essential tasks and saying no to extra responsibilities or projects, quiet quitting allows you to preserve your mental health, reduce stress, and focus on what really matters without the fear of feeling unappreciated or burned out. You low key get paid to quit your job, so work smart, not hard.

RESOURCE OF THE WEEK

Resource Of The Week: The Calm app. If you haven’t tried it yet, it’s packed with guided meditations, breathing exercises, and sleep stories plus it’s free. I personally use it nightly to help me wind down and silence the anxious thoughts that tend to creep in before bed.

SUPERGREENS POWDER POWER

Fun Fact: Supergreen powder pack a nutrient punch, with just one scoop often providing the same amount of antioxidants and vitamins as a whole salad, all in one single glass.

HOW-TO QUIT WITHOUT QUITTING

Quiet quitting your job helps you carve out time for yourself by allowing you to set clear boundaries between work and personal life, reducing burnout, and giving you space to focus on what matters most to you. These are the steps and guide to follow to get the ball rolling to quiet quitting your job:

  • Set clear work boundaries

  • Prioritize tasks effectively

  • Be efficient

  • Manage expectations

  • Take breaks and protect your time (Protect Ya Neck)

  • Focus on personal growth

By embracing quiet quitting, you make space and time to prioritize yourself, set healthier boundaries, and ensure that you have time for the things that really matter to you. Remember, it’s about preserving your well-being while still fulfilling your role at work.

I was so inspired by Mark’s story this week and Sara’s story last week (the name mention is the reward, I said reader) Mark shared how he uses mindful breathing exercises when anxiety hits, which helps him reset and regain control in stressful situations.

CALL TO ACTION

This week, let’s focus on hydration. Drinking enough water and having proper hydration is vital for both your physical and mental well-being. Start by setting a goal to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and see how it impacts your mood and energy levels. Coconut water is a great source for hydration and has electrolytes. Share your hydration tips with me, tell me how you stay on top of your water intake. I’d love to hear from you and feature your tips.

FINAL THOUGHT

Listen, anxiety and quiet quitting often stem from the same root: feeling hella overwhelmed, unappreciated, or straight up disconnection. When you’re constantly pushing yourself with little or barely any recognition or support, it’s very easy to disengage. Both situations highlight the importance of balance, self-worth, and boundaries, whether in your personal life or at work. Taking control, setting limits, and finding fulfillment can help you regain peace and purpose.
