A Parent : The Definition

What Is A Parent?

A parent is an individual who takes on the role of raising and nurturing a child, providing them with emotional, physical, and social support throughout their development. This role can be filled by a biological mother or father, an adoptive parent, a step-parent, a foster parent, or a guardian. The responsibilities of a parent include providing for the child's basic needs (such as food, clothing, and shelter), ensuring their safety, supporting their education, teaching values, setting boundaries, and offering love and emotional guidance.

What’s involved?

Being a parent involves both biological and social aspects, but it is fundamentally defined by the actions and commitment to care for and support the child's well-being. This includes nurturing their growth, helping them learn life skills, and guiding them toward becoming independent and responsible individuals. Effective parenting is characterized by qualities such as patience, empathy, love, consistency, and the willingness to put the child’s needs first.

#1 Job Of A Parent

A parent's number one job is to ensure the safety and well-being of their child. This involves providing a stable environment that meets the child's basic needs—such as food, shelter, clothing, and medical care—while also offering love, emotional support, and guidance.

At this point in my life, I feel like I can say I’m a Professional Parent. A Career Parent. Teehee. My family thinks I’m nuts when I say I wish I would have had more kids. The first relationship for a child is the parent-child relationship. That shapes your child’s trust, and communication skills and healthy relationships in their future.

There is no one way to parent, and no parents are exactly the same or have the exact same style, it’s custom built by the parent. Children need to know you believe them and believe in them to feel your sense of security for them. Like everything else, there’s an easy way and there’s a hard way, then there is My Way. I did it My Way!

As a Mom, I can say I love and cherish every bit of it, my job is to protect, educate and nurture my children I call it training. That’s what it is, training your children for life. I had to forfeit all my other single life activities and adapt to a new lifestyle. The Mom lifestyle is crazy. Whew! It’s not impossible, but it is different. Momlife entails caring for someone:

  • 24/7

  • No breaks

  • No relief

  • No visitors

  • No sleep

  • No do-overs

  • No vacation time

  • No sick days

  • No PTO

Nope, it’s all you. No pay. Nobody is coming to help you. It’s you doing all the work! Paid with love. Forever. So I had to be better, be the best me I could be. It took training, training for them and training for me. Training them to be well-mannered and not be a bull$#*t person in life was vital. But first I had to not be one myself. Being a Mom Is pretty dope. It is my job to help my children reach their goals and fulfill their dreams. Don’t let the world tell you who you are or what you should be. Be the best version of you. #momlife #momlifeislike

What’s The Goal?

The goal is to help the child grow into a healthy, responsible, and emotionally secure individual. This means not only protecting them from physical harm but also nurturing their mental, emotional, and social development. By setting boundaries, offering support, and being an active presence in their child's life, a parent creates the foundation for their child to thrive and succeed in life.
