Good Grief
Anxiety tends to pull the mind into the future, worrying about what might happen. Have you ever thought you had the flesh-eating disease necratitis because you scratched yourself on something and now you are gonna be like King Viserys I Targararyen on “The House Of Dragons” when he poked his pinky on the sword and now you think your shit is about to corrode up and fall off like his? Like “what the f*ck man”? How? No, for real, necratitis that’s a huge “what if” for me. Hella scary. Shoutout to my G.O.T family.
Or this is you, have you ever felt a pain in your leg and thought it was a blood clot and you thought you were gonna drop dead right there? Straight like that, boom - dead. Same. True story, one of my husband’s good fellas had a blood clot in his leg and didn’t know it and he almost died, very thankful he is still here with us, you are my people you know I have to share. Speaking of blood clots, there’s a book you all need to check out it explained a lowkey phenomenon I’ll tell you more.

What You Need To Know About Blood Clots
Understanding blood clots is crucial and vital as they play a dual role in protecting the body from bleeding and when misregulated, contributing to serious health issues.
Blood clots, encompass conditions like (DVT) and (PE), are significant health concerns in the United States. Annually, these conditions collectively result in approximately 100,000 deaths. This equates to an average of about 8,333 deaths per month. How do you get a blood clot? Like what is it right?
Blood clots form when blood cells, platelets, and proteins clump together to create a semi-solid mass, typically in response to injury to prevent excessive bleeding. However, clots can also develop without apparent injury, potentially leading to serious health issues if they obstruct blood flow or travel to vital organs.
What Is Plasmin?
Only two things break down blood clots, the body’s own natural “clot-busting drug” its called 1)Plasmin or one of these prescription drugs Anticoagulants (blood thinners)2)Heparin 2A)Warfarin 2B)Coumadin. While clotting is essential for preventing blood loss, unintended clots can lead to conditions like:
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Clots deep in veins, typically in the legs.
Pulmonary Embolism (PE) Clots that have traveled to the lungs.
Disseminated Intrvascular Coagulation (DIC) A serious condition causing widespread clotting throughout the body.
Tuesday, March 25, 2025 Breaking Story by NBA on TNT:
From post on X: Damian Lillian’s has a deep vein thrombosis (blood clot) In his right calf and is out indefinitely, the Bucks say.
Lilliard is on blood-thinning medication, which has stabilized the clot, and will continue to receive regular testing.
Thursday, March 27, 2025 Breaking: Out For The Season:
As posted by Bleacher Report Victor Wembanyama is expected to miss remainder of the season with a deep vein thrombosis in right shoulder.
What is a D-dimer?
A D-dimer is a protein fragment produced when a blood clot dissolves in the body. Under normal circumstances, D-dimer levels in the blood are low or undetectable. Elevated levels may indicate the presence of an abnormal or excessive blood clotting process.
D-dimer Test
How did they know he had a blood clot, what were the signs or symptoms? A D-dimer blood test measures the amount of D-dimer to help diagnose or rule out conditions related to abnormal clot formation and breakdown it is particularly useful in assessing (DVT), (PE) and (DIC)
There Were Signs ⛔️
Blood clots can be dangerous, especially if they travel to critical areas like the lungs, brain, or heart. Here are some common signs and symptoms to watch for, depending on where the clot is located:
🛑Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) – Blood Clot in the Leg or Arm 1)Swelling – Usually in one leg or arm, not both 2)Pain or Tenderness – Often feels like a cramp or soreness 3)Red or Discolored Skin – May look bruised or feel warm
4)Veins Look Enlarged – Veins may appear bulging or more visible
⚠️Pulmonary Embolism (PE) – Blood Clot in the Lungs 1)Sudden Shortness of Breath – Even when resting 2)Chest Pain – Sharp, stabbing pain that worsens with deep breaths 3)Coughing Up Blood – A sign of lung involvement 4)Rapid Heart Rate – Heart may feel like it's racing
🧠Blood Clot in the Brain (Stroke Symptoms) 1)Sudden Weakness or Numbness – Especially on one side of the body 2)Slurred Speech or Confusion – Trouble speaking or understanding 3)Severe Headache – Different from usual headaches 4) Vision Problems – Blurred or double vision
❤️Blood Clot in the Heart (Heart Attack Symptoms) 1)Chest Pain or Pressure – Can feel like squeezing or tightness 2) Shortness of Breath – Especially with exertion 3) Nausea or Lightheadedness – Feeling faint or dizzy 4) Pain in the Arm, Neck, or Jaw – Especially on the left side
F*ck that, don’t think twice about it if you suspect a blood clot, seek emergency medical help immediately. Blood clots can be life-threatening if not treated quickly.
DETECTION
How is it detected?
It’s up to your doctor to find where the blood clot is using screening tests like Doppler, ultrasound, MRI, or a CT scan. The D-dimer test is a valuable tool for detecting abnormal blood clotting activity, aiding in the diagnosis of various thrombotic conditions.
What does it mean?
A positive or elevated D-dimer result suggests significant clot formation and breakdown in the body but does not specify the location or cause. Further diagnostic imaging tests are often required to confirm the presence and location of a clot. Elevated D-dimer levels have also been found in vaccinated COVID-19 patients.
