What up Foodies! It’s me, your favorite Big Back! Let me tell you what you missed last week: Holistic Diets

FckThat! Let's dive into the world of nutritious eating and health, in order to get to that wealth. Practice preparing food by baking or roasting which helps make a lighter, fat-free food. Opt out of preparing meals in oil & grease, instead if you desire fried food, try out an air fryer.

We're fortunate to have access to a plethora of natural foods that can work wonders for our loved one’s & our bodies. Herbal tinctures are an effective way to repair injured or broken down cells, typically a doctor-visit is not required for these as you can DIY, and do it your way at home!

It's all about making the right choices and embracing a lifestyle centered around wholesome, enriching, and nourishing foods. Gardening is a good way to get the freshest grub. Try it! Fruits, vegetables & juicing can only benefit the body naturally. Today, the goal is filling half your plate with fruits and veggies. How much do you really need? Researchers discovered that eating 400 grams of fruits and vegetables each day could prevent chronic illnesses like cancer, heart disease, stroke and dementia as read in an article from (Eating Well Magazine).

What’s The Deal?

Since the pandemic (COVID-19) (July 2020) approximately 52% of young adults reside with one or both of their parents, up from 47% (Feb. 2020) [Pew Research Center]. The number and share of young adults living with their parents grew to 26.6 million, an increase of 2.6 million from February. Share of young adults living with parents rises to levels not seen since The Great Depression era. This means families had to combined space and share cost of food, and our communities are food deserts which is very detrimental to all our lives and the future. It is up to us to prepare better, healthier food for our families. Our parents and elders show us our future health, that is what if I knew then what I know now life would be different well This is That. Don’t make the future YOU hate YOU. Even if it's just a little dance in the kitchen while cooking up something nutritious and prepared fat-free (semi) at least. It can only help so we’re not hella bent over from osteoporosis or stay looking ready to pop off because our hands are stuck balled in a fist with PTB (Prone To Barrel) syndrome, keep it light.

Pros & Cons

First, portion control (Pro) – it's not as daunting as it sounds. It's simply about being mindful of how much we're indulging in one sitting. Break it down, spread it out, and savor every bite of those whole foods like juicy apples, crunchy asparagus, and vibrant kale. Ah, so let’s remember the goal here, work together to un-big our backs. Make sure to hydrate daily with a drink that has electrolytes, some prefer pineapple coconut water to avoid dehydration especially when exposed to the sun for a long time.

Now, about that food addiction (Con)(if you are a BRAT)– it's a tough one to kick, isn't it? But hey, we're in this together! We've got to bid farewell to those tempting snacks that wreak havoc on our health. It’s sugary drinks for me! More snacks than you know contain starches, coloring dyes, phosphorus that isn’t always great for your body. Also known as The sugars. Just remember to do your reasearch & READ THE LABEL.

If you’re having a craving for sugary drinks, try a crystal light instead of a soda. Try switching the water in your household to spring water, to ensure our bodies get the minerals that comes from clear springs.

Who wants to deal with gout, high blood pressure, or clogged arteries? Not us, that's for sure! But, if you are suffering from those conditions, most of the time you can catch it before it becomes detrimental, like having cheat days for pigging out, and avoiding fried foods in your regular diet. Add more green vegetables, and leafy greens into your day. Smoothies are another great way to get your fruits & veggies daily! Resulting in your body ridding unwanted toxins & leaving you feeling like a million bucks.

Of course, saying goodbye to our favorite indulgences can cause you to act like a severe Bitchzilla. but trust me, it's worth it. Other than that, there are no cons at all. I assure you when you care about what happens to your organs as you grow, you will look at food differently. Congratulations! This is you investing in a healthier, happier future. Plus, who knew that broccoli and spinach could be our allies in the bathroom department? It's all about finding that balance, folks! Let’s keep it clean.

Verdict?

So, let's make a pact to nourish our bodies Overeating is can often lead to obesity. Fruits and veggies are our superheroes, from Mother-Earth & ready to heal us from the inside out. And hey, as a fellow big ba- I mean foodie. I get it – the struggle is real. With a few tweaks to our diet and a little extra sweat during workouts, we'll be well on our way to tighter bellies and thighs. You don’t even have to leave the comfort of your home, try wall workouts to do it with quickness incase you have to squeeze into that dress. Without a doubt, this lifestyle should be first choice.

In conclusion remember, it's not about deprivation; it's about liberation – freeing ourselves from the shackles of unhealthy eating habits, our addictions and our guilty pleasures. Eat what you love, just in moderation. Together, let's savor each bite, enjoy life to the fullest, eat well and pave the way to a brighter, healthier tomorrow. Your body will thank you, especially your back, I promise! Until next time take care of yourself and each other.
