Do you feel hella tight, like you're losing control? Do your decisions suddenly seem slower, less confident, or just not up to par? If you've ever felt like your brain hit a wall and every choice became a battle, you may not be lazy, unmotivated, or broken, you may be experiencing decision fatigue. It all fcks with anxiety, let’s see how. Let’s dive in.

I need your help, we just made it a bit past 600 subscribers, trying to get to 700 subscribers by Aug. 1. Please share FckThat Newsletter. I appreciate your help.

WHAT IS DECISION FATIGUE?

Decision fatigue is mental exhaustion caused by making too many decisions over time. Every choice, from simple daily tasks to important life decisions, uses cognitive energy. As those mental resources become depleted, your brain struggles to think efficiently, making it harder to focus, solve problems, regulate emotions, and choose the best course of action.

THE EFFECT/SIGNS

When decision fatigue develops, even small choices can feel overwhelming. You may become irritable, impatient, mentally foggy, or emotionally reactive. Concentration decreases, procrastination increases, and impulsive decisions become more likely because your brain seeks the quickest, easiest solution instead of carefully weighing every available option or consequence.

THE CAUSE

Decision fatigue is often caused by constant multitasking, repeated interruptions, chronic stress, lack of sleep, financial pressures, perfectionism, or simply having too many choices throughout the day. Each demand adds to your cognitive load until your brain shifts into energy-conservation mode, making productive thinking and emotional regulation much more difficult. All this adds and takes a toll on your nervous system and intensifies anxiety.

THE FIX

Reducing decision fatigue starts with conserving mental energy. What I had to do to save me was create routines, simplify daily choices, prioritize important decisions early, and focus on one task at a time. Regular breaks, quality sleep, hydration, balanced nutrition, and accepting "good enough" instead of perfection help restore mental clarity, improve emotional control, and support better decision-making. And delegation helps most overall.
