CALM THE FCK DOWN

Happy Friday! Is boredom the new busy? As an adult, do you know how to be bored? When in doubt, sit the fck down. We’ve trained ourselves to fill every empty second. Waiting? Phone. TV? Phone. Bathroom? Phone. Driving? Hopefully not the fcking phone. Boredom used to be normal. Now quiet feels uncomfortable. Change your mindset. Learning to sit with nothing can reset your brain.
WHEN BOREDOM MET ANXIETY
Anxiety and boredom have a lot in common. We’re constantly stimulated, phones, notifications, streaming, social media, podcasts, games, short-form videos. So when there’s nothing happening, our brains immediately look for something. A fidget device (women) or a rubix cube can provide harmless sensory stimulation and may help some people focus, particularly people with ADHD or anxiety, but it isn't proof that everyone has a disorder.
HOW TO BE BORED
1. Take a 10 minute walk
No podcast. No phone in your hand. Just walk, breathe, notice your surroundings, and let your brain experience some damn silence.
2. Make something
Cook something, journal, draw, organize a space, garden, or work on a hobby. Creating gives your brain stimulation without feeding the endless-scroll cycle.
3. Do one thing you’ve been putting off
Self-care. Clean a drawer. Make that phone call. Plan tomorrow. Read five pages. Small accomplishments turn boredom into momentum.
Must read very powerful book by my sis: The Power Of The Mindset by Amy Reese
